Navigating Your Finances God's Way

Michael Ballard

Navigating Your Finances God's Way

Michael and his wife Kathleen took the course in 1992 when they had overwhelming debt and no hope of living life without it. As they applied the Godly principles taught in this course to their lives, they were able to pay off their credit card debt, pay off their mortgage early, and educate their children without taking on any college debt. They now have the opportunity to give generously to the needs of others. Michael has been teaching this course since 1995 and was a part of the Charlotte team that helped initiate this course in numerous Charlotte churches over the years.

HOPE UNIVERSITY

A STUDY OF

GOD'S STORY:

THE BIBLE

The course is designed to help you understand why the Bible is God's authoritative Word and how contemporary Christians can confidently affirm its authority.  We will study the interconnection of God's story from Genesis to Revelation, its remarkable unity, and its major purpose: to point people to eternal life through Jesus Christ.  There will be time for questions and answers for the application of God's Word — especially as they pertain to many of the difficult cultural issues facing Christians today.

Attendance expectations: Consistent weekly attendance is encouraged.

Session Dates: February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. Session Time: 6:30p

SPIRITUAL

GIFTS

Did you know that God has given every believer a unique blend of spiritual gifts? This four-week course is designed to help you discover your spiritual gifts and use them to serve others. We'll focus primarily on the seven Motivational Gifts of the Spirit listed in Romans 12:6-8. The format will include large group instruction and discussion, as well as
small-group interaction.

Attendance expectations: Consistent weekly attendance is encouraged. Deadline to register is 1/26/2020.

Session Dates: February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. Session Time: 6:30p

NAVIGATING YOUR FINANCES GOD'S WAY

This seven-week course is designed to teach you God's perspective on how to manage your finances and provide practical applications on how to achieve the goal of being debt-free. We strongly recommend that couples take this class together. Changing your lifestyle to conform to God's biblical teaching works best when both members are committed to the same goals. There will be homework requirements each week in preparation for the class which include reading Bible passages and answering questions in your own personal workbook and memorizing a verse of scripture.

Attendance expectations: Consistent weekly attendance is highly recommended. Materials must be picked up prior to first class. Deadline to register is 1/26/2020.

Session Dates: February 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th and March 3, 10 & 17. Session Time: 6:30p

THE FOUNDATIONS

OF FAITH

What does it mean to be an authentic Christian? We will spend four weeks learning how much God loves us and how we can have confidence in His plan for our lives. We will take a close look at Jesus — who He is and why He is important.  Finding peace with God. Sharing what we believe with others. These are the foundational truths of our faith.  The format will be large group instruction and discussion as we dig through God’s Word together.

Attendance expectations: Consistent weekly attendance is encouraged. Deadline to register is 1/26/2020.

Session Dates: February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. Session Time: 6:30p

Why it matters

"Jesus tells us to make disciples. A disciple is someone who wants to know God and learn from Him. We want you to know how much God loves you and we are committed to help you grow spiritually. Come join us.”

- John Kasay

Your faith in Jesus is way bigger than just attending church on Sunday. It is an active, growing, deepening journey of discipleship. And we want to give you the tools to help you thrive.
